AVONDALE, Ariz. — William Byron picked up his second NASCAR Cup Series victory of 2023 in the United Rentals Work United 500 at Phoenix Raceway Sunday, his sixth overall points-awarding win in NASCAR’s top series.

Byron is now 75th all-time on the series’ wins list.

“This team has been working really hard,” Byron said of the win. “We didn’t want to stop last week, and we just wanted to keep it going.

“We have more work to do but hopefully this week is a little bit calmer and we can relax a little bit.”

Byron has been racing in the Cup Series full-time since 2018, piloting the Hendrick Motorsports No. 24 his entire duration in the Cup Series.

Ahead of Byron on the wins list — all with seven victories — includes Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, Darrel Dieringer, A.J. Foyt, Jamie McMurray, Jim Reed and Marshall Teague.

The next race for the Cup Series is scheduled for Sunday, March 19 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Byron won the March 2022 race.
