William Byron moves to tie for 55th on NASCAR all-time wins list

With his dominating performance Sunday in the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway, William Byron moved to a three-way tie for 55th all-time on the NASCAR Cup Series wins list.

The win was Byron’s first of 2026 and the 17th of his career, tying him with 2016 NASCAR Hall-of-Fame member Curtis Turner and Marvin Panch.

For Byron, he snapped a 35-race winless streak, dating back to his win at Martinsville last year.

“It’s tough to win in the Cup Series,” Byron said. “You never want to get used to losing. That is a culture that you never want to shift, especially when you drive for the team we have, driving the 24 car. It’s important that we can win races.”

All of Byron’s 17 career wins have come behind the wheel of the Hendrick Motorsports No. 24, the only ride he has driven in the Cup Series since taking over the legendary racecar in 2018.

Byron has won in each of the last seven Cup Series seasons.

Directly ahead of Byron on the wins list include Geoff Bodine, Neil Bonnett, Harry Gant, Kasey Kahne and Ryan Newman; each with 18 victories.
