YellaWood 500 postponed to Monday
TALLADEGA, AL – The NASCAR Cup Series YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway has been postponed to Monday, October 4, due to inclement weather.
NASCAR officials called the race after a rain shower hit the track during pace laps after a nearly two-hour rain delay. Officials determined it was not possible for the track to be dried enough Sunday to get the full distance in.
The race will be run 1 p.m. ET Monday (TV: NBCSN; Radio: MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
Three of the last five Talladega races have been postponed to another day, including two of the last three playoff races at the track (2019, 2021). The June 2020 race also was postponed.
