A.J. earns ‘Dinger’ of a Michigan win

A.J. Allmendinger picked up where he left off at Indianapolis in the NASCAR Cup Series, as he claimed victory Saturday in the NASCAR Xfinity Series New Holland 250 at Michigan.

Allmendinger earned his third win of the 2021 NXS season Saturday. It is his eighth career NXS win and his third oval NXS win.

“I just don’t want to wake up from this dream,” Allmendinger said.

Allmendinger added during the post-race press conference that he laid on the backstretch of Indianapolis Motor Speedway after he won last Sunday to soak in the win.

The Top 10 finishers are as follows: A.J. Allmendinger, Brandon Jones, Noah Gragson, Josh Berry, Harrison Burton, Justin Allgaier, Riley Herbst, Brett Moffitt, Jade Buford, Bubba Wallace.

Allmendinger is only 35 points behind points leader Austin Cindric with only four races left in the regular season, including the August 27 Wawa 250 at Daytona (7:30 p.m. ET; TV: NBCSN; Radio: MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
