AJ Allmendinger joins COTA Cup field in 3rd Kaulig entry

A.J. Allmendinger will drive a third Kaulig Racing entry this weekend in the NASCAR Cup Series at Circuit of the Americas.
Allmendinger will drive the No. 13 LeafFilter Gutter Protection Chevrolet. He will have Eddie Pardue as his crew chief.
Allmendinger has driven the No. 16 in two races so far this season. Driving the No. 16 this weekend is Shane van Gisbergen who will make his first start of the 2024 Cup Series season at COTA.

Allmendinger has two wins at COTA – last year and the year before in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He will get to defend his Xfinity Series wins and look for redemption in the Cup Series after coming close to a COTA win in 2022.
Crew chief Eddie Pardue worked with Chandler Smith when he drove the No. 13 car last year to a 17th-place finish at Richmond in April and a 15th-place finish at Daytona in August. They also attempted last year’s Daytona 500 together.
