Alex Palou earns 5th consecutive pole of the season at Road America
ELKHART LAKE, WISCONSIN — Alex Palou will start from the pole for the XPEL Grand Prix at Road America as he continued his amazing qualifying form at the national park of speed.
This is his fifth consecutive pole, sixth total, of the season and his 18th career NTT INDYCAR Series pole.

Fellow Chip Ganassi Racing legend Alex Zanardi, a two-time INDYCAR SERIES champion, was the last driver to win five straight poles. He captured the last four poles of the 1996 season and opened the 1997 season with two more consecutive poles.
While Palou remained near the top of the timing sheets, he was not setting them ablaze like he usually does at the permanent road courses.
In the end, it didn’t matter as it was Palou who came out on top by the end of the qualifying session.
David Malukas will start on the front row from second. He was the only other driver to hit the sub-1:44 mark.
The Meyer Shank Racing duo continued to impress in the session this weekend. Both team’s brought tremendous speed to the Northwoods and were rewarded with second row starts.
With the flu, Marcus Armstrong tied his career best start in third with teammate Felix Rosenqvist in fourth.
Marcus Ericsson was the only Andretti Global entry to make the Firestone Fast six and he will start fifth. Finally, Scott McLaughlin rounded the fast six in sixth.
Santino Ferrucci narrowly missed the Firestone Fast Six, but his seventh-place grid slot will not matter tomorrow. He and Alexander Rossi both acquired a six-place grid drop each after replacing their engines.
Nolan Siegel outqualified his McLaren teammates as the young driver looks to impress to save his race seat. Just behind him is the highest starting rookie, Caio Collet.
Collet is a winner around Road America in the INDY NXT by Firestone series and the Brazilian loves a fast car out of the gates. Finally, Pato O’Ward completes the top ten.
