Brett Moffitt gets multi-race deal with TRICON Garage

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — TRICON Garage announced Tuesday that Brett Moffitt will drive the No. 1 Toyota Tundra PRO in multiple NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races.

Moffitt will make his first start May 4 at Kansas Speedway. He will have crew chief Seth Smith on the box.

Moffitt won the 2018 Truck Series title with Hattori Racing Enterprises. Since then, he has bounced around. He left GMS Racing after two Truck seasons. Then, after a season-and-a-half focusing solely on the Xfinity Series with Our Motorsports, he lost his ride toward the end of the 2022 season.

He found a home at AM Racing for the 2023 Xfinity Series season. However, the organization brought on Hailie Deegan and didn’t bring back Moffitt this season.

The May 4 Heart of America 200 at Kansas Speedway will mark Moffitt’s first start in any NASCAR series this season. The green flag will fly just after 8 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

“I’ve been eager to get back behind the wheel. I’ve been looking for the right team that can consistently compete for wins. TRICON has shown a lot of speed this year and I’m looking forward to getting in the truck in a couple of weeks,” Moffitt said.

Moffitt is a past winner at Kansas Speedway. He led 15 of 139 laps and claimed victory there in October 2020.
