Bubba Wallace shows speed, leads laps at Homestead
Despite leading in the final stage, Bubba Wallace had to settle for third-place Sunday in the Straight Talk Wireless 400.

Wallace started the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway ninth, collected six stage points, and led three times for 56 laps. His third-place finish marked his first Top-5 finish of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season.
โWe showed up here in Miami and had speed,โ Wallace said. โThat’s the first box you want to check. We all know when you are a race car driver, you want to show up and be competitive. We were that.โ
Additionally, Wallace claimed the bonus point for the fastest lap of the race, posting a 32.335-second lap on Lap 218.

Prior to Sunday, Wallace’s highest finish of the season was a ninth-place run at Atlanta Motor Speedway in February.
โIt’s been a grind all year long,โ Wallace said. โI’m talking like we’re 20 races in. It’s only five, whatever it is. We’ve just been getting kicked in the teeth the last stage of every race. Finally closed one out. This feels good.โ
Before the race, Wallace entered the race 11th in driverโs standings with an 11-point cushion over the playoff cutline. Now, Wallace is seventh in points with a 36-point advantage over the cutline.
Twenty races remain before the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. The next scheduled race is Sunday, March 30 at Martinsville Speedway.
