Jade Buford finished ninth in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series New Holland 250 at Michigan.

Buford ran inside the Top 15 for much of the race and earned the free pass during a Lap 117 caution. He restarted 11th and moved up to eighth after enduring three overtime periods.

For Buford, it was the first time he had finished in the Top 10 on an oval in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Buford also finished in the Top 10 in 2020 at the Charlotte Roval, which is where he posted an eighth-place finish.

Buford’s ninth-place finish Saturday was also his first Top 10 of 2021. His previous-best finish of the season was a 13th-place finish at Mid-Ohio.

The next race for Buford and the rest of the NASCAR Xfinity Series is the August 27 Wawa 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

Buford was unapproved to run the February race at Daytona but he earned an 18th-place finish in the April race at sister track Talladega.
