Burton talks importance of proper mindset heading into Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. — 2019 started off with the highest of highs for Gander Outdoors Truck Series rookie Harrison Burton, who won the season opening ARCA race at Daytona.
Unlike all of the races so far, Burton has been to Martinsville countless times and has performed well each time.
Martinsville is known to test drivers patience and bring out the worst in drivers. That’s not the case for the second generation driver, who’s best Martinsville finish is fourth place.
“This is a place that will make you mad, happy and sad all in the same lap.” Burton said.
“I think for me, the biggest thing is always to get back to center, get back to focus. Focusing on my task, you can only control what you can control and keeping that in your head. Think I’m doing the best I can for the situation I’m in. That mindset is worth a lot here and really anywhere.”
Burton currently finds himself in second in the points standings just three races into the season.
Burton will be racing Saturday afternoon in the TruNorth Global 250.
