Carson Hocevar to drive NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington

Carson Hocevar will race the No. 42 Legacy Motor Club Chevrolet at Darlington this Sunday night in the Southern 500, the team announced Monday.
“This is a great opportunity to get some seat time in the NASCAR Cup Series and help out the team at LEGACY M.C.,” said Hocevar in a news release.
The team has had Josh Berry and Mike Rockefeller as interim drivers since Noah Gragson’s release from the team.

Darlington will mark Hocevar’s second start in the NASCAR Cup Series.
He previously raced for Sprie Motorsports at Gateway in June, filling in for Corey LaJoie who raced that event for Hendrick Motorsports in place of a suspended Chase Elliott.
