After 18 races, 2,355 laps, and 240 days since the drop of the green flag in Daytona Beach, Florida, the 2019 eNASCAR Peak Antifreeze iRacing Series Championship was ultimately decided in the last corner on the last lap at the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway.
“To win a Playoff race, my first Playoff victory, is special,” Larson said. “I hope there’s another one in our future, especially in the next round. So, we’ll see what we can do.”
“I knew we were probably in a good spot staying out there,” Custer said. “It was a great pit call by Mike (Shiplett) to stay out. It is all about track position here. Whatever you can do on strategy and pit stops to get track position, it is what you need to do.”
Zalenski entered the night in a must-win situation to advance to the Championship Four at Homestead-Miami Speedway in just over two weeks, so he led every lap and won by over eight seconds.
As the two leaders slammed into the inside pit wall, Corey Vincent, running in third, stayed high and passed the carnage en route to his first victory of the 2019 eNASCAR Peak Antifreeze iRacing Series season, and third of his career.
“Everybody at Burton-Kligerman eSports works so hard, and I’ve made so many mistakes this year, and I’ve been down on myself,” Crowder said post-race to RaceSpot TV. “I didn’t think that I was going to get any sort of good finish, really. I got an eighth place last week, and obviously a win this week, I just can’t believe it, honestly.”
“I don’t know how we did it, but after coming close so many times, having good runs that just haven’t gone our way, to finally win, everyone, all the people that supported me… it feels good to finally win.”
“I don’t even know what to say,” DiBendetto said. “I’m so sad we didn’t win, but proud, proud of the effort. I got tight there from the damage from trying to get by (Ryan) Newman and that immediately flipped a switch and got tight.”
Tyler Reddick had about everything go wrong for him on Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway, yet he still ended up in victory lane.
