“They were coming so fast, and they wanted to split me,” Blaney said. “I wanted to stay to the bottom and kind of pulled the 11 off the 6 (Newman) and then had a big enough run to get to the 6. We kind of hit above the line and that pushed me below the line. That is a big judgement call. You never know. I definitely wasn’t going to go below the line before we made contact.”
131 laps remain when the green flag drops again. The weather forecast for Monday afternoon calls for partly cloudy skies and a high of 78 degrees, per The Weather Channel.
“It was kind of frustrating. The KBM (Kyle Busch Motorsports) guys, we kind of talked to them before the race started and we were supposed to really work with each other and it didn’t really happen that way,” Hill said.
“You know, we’re happy, we finished fourth at Daytona in this truck, and then one of my crew guys is like ‘you just won!’ and I’m like, I can’t believe this.”
After 18 races, 2,355 laps, and 240 days since the drop of the green flag in Daytona Beach, Florida, the 2019 eNASCAR Peak Antifreeze iRacing Series Championship was ultimately decided in the last corner on the last lap at the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway.
“To win a Playoff race, my first Playoff victory, is special,” Larson said. “I hope there’s another one in our future, especially in the next round. So, we’ll see what we can do.”
“I knew we were probably in a good spot staying out there,” Custer said. “It was a great pit call by Mike (Shiplett) to stay out. It is all about track position here. Whatever you can do on strategy and pit stops to get track position, it is what you need to do.”
