In Saturday’s ARCA Menards Series West General Tire 200 at Sonoma (Cali.) Raceway, Chase Briscoe led every lap and earned his first ARCA West win.

Briscoe, the 2016 ARCA Menards Series champion, led every one of the scheduled 50 laps and held onto to win in overtime.

The top 10 finishers were as follows: Chase Briscoe, Dylan Lupton, P.J. Pedroncelli, Cole Moore, Todd Souza, Dean Thompson, Jake Drew, Bridget Burgess, Ryan Philpot, Bobby Hillis Jr.

Briscoe is set to make his first NASCAR Cup Series start at Sonoma but has had no practice or qualifying to get prepared for it.

“With no Cup practice, it was crucial to run this race,” Briscoe stated. “I felt like I learned a lot running 50 or 60 laps that will pay dividends for tomorrow.”

Briscoe last raced ARCA Menards Series West in 2013, with a best finish of 8th at Albuqerque (N.M.).

The next race for ARCA Menards Series West is the July 3 NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Irwindale Speedway.
