Chris Buescher tied for 84th on wins list

Chris Buescher’s victory Monday in the Firekeepers Casino 400 was his second Cup Series win in 10 days and the fourth of his career.

Buescher held off a late charge from Martin Truex Jr. to earn his second victory of 2023 at Michigan International Speedway, extending Ford’s victories at the track to nine consecutive.

“It’s certainly good times, certainly just a testament of all the work that’s gone into the Next Gen car, all the work that’s gone into continuously developing it,” Buescher said. “It’s making my job a lot easier to go out here and win these races.”

Buescher is now tied with 18 other drivers for 84th all-time on the series’ wins list. Active drivers with four career victories are Austin Dillon and Tyler Reddick.

Buescher has earned three of his four Cup Series victories driving for RFK Racing. His first career win in 2016 came at Pocono Raceway in 2016 when he was driving for Front Row Motorsports.

Ahead of Buescher on the wins list includes eight drivers tied with five victories, including active driver Christopher Bell and 1992 series champion Alan Kulwiski.

The next race for the Cup Series is the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 13 from the Indianapolis Grand Prix Circuit.
