Cody Ware, Jade Buford net first Xfinity Top-10 finishes

Top-10 finishes from Jade Buford and Cody Ware in the Drive For the Cure 250 Saturday (Oct. 10th) were the first for each in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series.

Ware and Buford crossed the line seventh and eighth respectively on the rain-drenched Charlotte Road Course (ROVAL).

“The Lord has blessed me so much the past couple weeks,” Ware said post-race on social media. “…[No.] 17 was a phenomenal piece, the crew worked so hard to put together an Xfinity Racing car in their spare time to go have some fun at the road course.”

The Top-10 was Ware’s first in 21 starts on the series. His previous highest finish came at Mid-Ohio — another road course — in 2014.

Buford earned his highest finish yet in four totals starts in the series, all of which have come in 2020.

Buford’s previous highest finish was 14th at the Indianapolis Road Course in July.
