Colby Howard to race for TRICON Garage

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — TRICON Garage announced Wednesday that Colby Howard will get to jump behind the wheel of their No. 1 Toyota Tundra.

Howard will race the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entry in the February 24 Fr8 208 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Last year, the organization gave Layne Riggs the opportunity to race for them in this race. Now Riggs is full-time with Front Row Motorsports for 2024.

The 22-year-old driver has four top-10 finishes in 51 Truck Series starts with a best finish of fourth a year ago at Daytona. He raced full-time for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in 2022 and CR7 Motorsports in 2023.

“I’m incredibly excited to be working with TRICON and the No. 1 team at Atlanta,” Howard said. “This is a massive opportunity for me at this point in my career and I’m looking forward to going out and making the most of it. Atlanta’s new configuration can be tricky, but I’m ready for the challenge and to prove I belong.”

Howard’s truck will feature Project Hope Foundation. The foundation is a service provider aimed at helping children in South Carolina cope with autism difficulties in daily activities.

The Fr8 208 goes green February 24 at 2 p.m. Catch it on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
