Gavan Boschele making NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut at IRP

Gavan Boschele, a rising Toyota prospect, will make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut at Indianapolis Raceway Park on Friday. He will drive the No. 1 Toyota for Tricon Garage with sponsorship from American Land Partners.

Boschele will become the 10th different driver to run the No. 1 truck this season. He joins notable names such as Corey Heim, Dario Franchitti, Jimmie Johnson, Brandon Jones and others to run it.

The truck sits fifth in owner points, and he’ll have a duty to help keep the truck high in points with the Chase approaching.

While Boschele has never raced at IRP, his short track experience should help him. Last year, he ran full-time in the ASA STARS National Tour and picked up a win at New Smyrna. In addition, he drove full-time in ASA’s CRA Super Series and Southern Super Series.

Boschele will also be pulling double duty as part of his limited schedule in the ARCA Menards Series. There, he’ll drive the No. 25 for Nitro Motorsports for his sixth start of the season in the main division.

He’s scored five top five finishes which included a second place at Pocono. He also led his first laps in the series at Kansas when he finished fourth.

Boschele is expected to run more Truck races after his debut this weekend. His website lists him competing at New Hampshire, Kansas, and Martinsville.
