GMS Racing announces NASCAR Cup Series program for 2022
GMS Racing announced that the team will be starting a NASCAR Cup Series program for 2022.
The team posted a video on their Twitter account Thursday afternoon that displayed the GMS Racing and NASCAR Cup Series logos together. The video was accompanied by the caption, “Leveling up in 2022.”
Further details have yet TBA by the team.
2022 will be the first season for the NASCAR Cup Series NextGen car which is expected to lower costs for Cup teams.
GMS Racing currently fields four full-time trucks for No. 2 Sheldon Creed, No. 21 Zane Smith, No. 23 Chase Purdy and No. 26 Tyler Ankrum. In 2019, GMS Racing fielded a No. 23 Chevrolet for John Hunter Nemechek in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
