Hamlin handed Cup Series pole at Nashville after rain cancels yet another qualifying session

LEBANON, TENN. — Denny Hamlin has won the pole for the NASCAR Cup Series’ Cracker Barrel 400 qualifying at Nashville Superspeedway has been cancelled due to rain.

The current wash out streak ties 2008 for the most consecutive NASCAR national series qualifying rain outs with six straight.

Hamlin now has amassed 50 career Cup Series poles in his career and his second of the 2026 season so far.

He is joined by the current regular season points leader, Tyler Reddick, on the front row.

Daniel Suarez will start third after his emotional victory in last week’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte. Christopher Bell will lineup alongside him from fourth.

Kyle Larson rounds out the top five while Ty Gibbs continues his positive momentum this season from sixth.

Former Nashville Superspeedway winner Ryan Blaney will start from seventh. Then William Byron looks to run with more speed and consistency inside the top ten as he will start in eighth.

Joey Logano and Shane van Gisbergen round out the top ten from the fifth row.

Newly announced 2027 Cup Series driver Corey Heim will lineup 24th and on the outside of the driver he will replace in Riley Herbst.

There are a few Chase contenders who will start deep in the pack. Chase Elliott comes back to the venue where he has won before. He will have ground to make up if he wants to equal that mark from 29th.

The other Chase, Chase Briscoe, finds himself in a similar predicament as he starts in 31st.

Ross Chastain and Austin Cindric both start in the 18th row and will have to grind their way forward throughout the event on Sunday.

Finally, the only other open entry is Chad Finchum in the Garage 66 No. 66 entry. All 38 entrants made the show.

While qualifying was rained out, NASCAR will run the full practice session with only a single set of tires.
