Harrison Burton becomes 205th different Cup Series winner
With his win in the Coke Zero Sugar 400, Harrison Burton became the 205th different winner in NASCAR Cup Series history and the first first-time winner of the 2024 season.

Burton only led one lap โ the final one โ holding off two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch for his first win in his 98th career start and in his third full-time season.
“Obviously the way the last three years have gone, has not been the way I wanted to represent myself, the way I wanted to represent this team,” Burton said.
“Then to have the kind of walls closing in on there’s a different end to my time to get to drive this historic car, then to find a way to win while those walls are kind of closing in, to me is really, really special.”

Prior to Burton, the most-recent first-time winner was Shane Van Gisbergen at the Chicago Street Course in July 2023.
Burton made his Cup Series debut in 2021, driving the No. 96 Guant Brothers Racing entry at Talladega in April of that year.
Burton was tabbed as the driver of the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing entry in July of 2021 to replace Matt DiBenedetto in the driver’s seat in 2022.

Burton, in his 97 starts with WBR, has earned one win, two Top-5 finishes, six Top-10 finishes, and 73 laps led.
In July of this year, WBR announced Burton would not return to the No. 21 car in 2025, with Josh Berry ultimately announced as his replacement.
