Harrison Burton joins McLeod, Reddick in the rear for Pennzoil 400

LAS VEGAS — Harrison Burton will start in the rear for Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas after crashing in practice.

During Group B practice, Burton’s car started overheating and pushing water. Going into turn 1, the car snapped sideways and went almost head-on into the wall.

Burton said he felt fine but the car wasn’t. Heavy front-end damage forced the team to pull out a backup car for Sunday’s race.

will be joined by Tyler Reddick and BJ McLeod in the rear for the Pennzoil 400.

Reddick had an engine issue the team fixed during practice and qualifying.

Meanwhile, a team member told TRE that McLeod fired up the car in practice but only moved “about 10 feet” before stalling.

The team diagnosed it as a transaxle issue and remedied it in the garage during practice.

The Pennzoil 400 goes green just after 3:30 p.m. ET (TV: FOX; Radio: PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Ch. 90)
