Heartbreak for Daniel Hemric in Atlanta

HAMPTON, Ga. — Daniel Hemric will have to wait at least one more week to try and capture a win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Hemric crashed while leading the Credit Karma Money 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway Saturday with several laps left in the scheduled distance, receiving a bump from teammate Kyle Busch and subsequent contact with A.J. Allmendinger that led to brushing the outside retaining wall in Turn 1.

Hemric picked up 14 stage points, led 45 laps, but ultimately finished 30th.

“We got through our Stage 3 woes, we did all we could,” Hemric said. “…every week we’re in the ballgame, I expect us to continue to do it.”

To date, Hemric has led 865 laps, earned five poles and has netted 32 Top-5 finishes — all NASCAR Xfinity Series records for any driver that has never won in the series.
