CONCORD, N.C. — Helio Castroneves will attempt to make the 2025 Daytona 500 with Trackhouse Racing in their PROJECT91 entry.

Castroneves will try to make the Great American Race in the No. 91 Wendy’s Chevrolet with Darian Grubb as his crew chief. The four-time Indianapolis 500 winner is looking to join Mario Andretti and A.J. Foyt to become the third driver to win both the Indy 500 and the Daytona 500.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would enter a NASCAR race and certainly not the Daytona 500 with a team like Trackhouse Racing,” Castroneves said. “This is an opportunity that nobody in their right mind could ever turn down. I am so thankful to Wendy’s for allowing me to wear their uniform and drive their car, Justin Marks and everyone that made this happen. I wish the race were tomorrow!”

The PROJECT91 entry is an open entry, meaning Castroneves will have to race his way into the Daytona 500. The only other confirmed open entry for the Feb. 16 race is the No. 66 MBM Motorsports entry with driver Mike Wallace.
