Hendrick tabs Boris Said, full-time drivers for Xfinity ride
Hendrick Motorsports announced the initial lineup of races and drivers for its No. 17 entry in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
The initial schedule will consist of 10 races. HMS’s four full-time NASCAR Cup Series will fill each race, except for the June 8 race at Sonoma Raceway.

Boris Said will climb aboard the No. 17 Chevrolet at Sonoma. It is his second time driving this car.
At the Charlotte Roval last October, Said needed to get into the field based on his qualifying time. In qualifying, however, his car started leaking fluid and eventually went up in smoke.
Said missed the race. Meanwhile, HMS took responsibility for the mishap and vowed to have him back.
Said will have Greg Ives as his crew chief at Sonoma. Ives will also serve as crew chief for Kyle Larson at Circuit of the Americas in March and the Chicago Street Course in July and for Chase Elliott at Charlotte in May and Darlington in August.
William Byron will have his lead engineer, Brandon McSwain, as his crew chief in the other four races — Phoenix in March, Darlington in May, Pocono in July and Watkins Glen in September.
Byron finished second at COTA last year, the best finish for the No. 17 HMS entry in 2023. The entry was in six Xfinity races last year, resulting in three top-5 finishes and a ninth-place finish at Watkins Glen with Alex Bowman. Kyle Larson also earned a pole at Sonoma and led 53 of 79 laps before finishing third.
