NASCAR hits 2 Stewart-Haas Racing teams with L1 penalties
NASCAR docked 35 driver and owner points from two Stewart-Haas Racing teams for improper roof rail deflectors.
Noah Gragson and Ryan Preece were each docked 35 driver points. Meanwhile, their Nos. 10 and 41 teams were docked 35 owner points.
During pre-race tech inspection Friday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, NASCAR officials confiscated the deflectors on Gragson and Preece’s cars.
Upon further review, NASCAR found the two teams violated rulebook sections 14.5.6.1 A, B & C. They ruled an L1 penalty against them.
