Hunter McElrea wins 3rd career Indy Lights pole at Iowa
Hunter McElrea is on the pole for today’s Indy Lights event at Iowa Speedway, it’s the 3rd career pole for McElrea and the 3rd for Andretti this season.
McElrea won the pole and the race at the last Indy Lights event at Mid-Ohio and currently sits 4th in the Indy Light driver points.
Fastest in practice and pole favorite No.26 Linus Lundqvist lined up 2nd on the grid and will chase his 8th career win today.
Second place in points No.2 Sting Ray Robb will line up 3rd on the grid, Robb is -87 points behind points leader Lundqvist and while it’s a big gap, Robb still believes he still has a shot at the championship.
Although showing solid top 3 speed in practice, the No.83 of Matthew Brabham qualified a dissapointing 8th, Brabham is currently 3rd in points and is only 9 points from 2nd place
All 13 cars are separated by less than 1.8 seconds, 3 different organizations in the top 5. Watch the stars of the Indy Lights Series take to the track at 11:15 am CT.
