Power wins Iowa IndyCar pole for doubleheader races

Will Power gets the 66th pole of his IndyCar career at Iowa Speedway, being the only driver to break 178 mph in qualifying.

Teammate Joseph Newgarden will line up 2nd for both races, Newgarden comes in as the pre-race favorite having led over 500 laps in the past 3 races at Iowa.

After showing solid speed in Practice, the No.48 Jimmie Johnson will line up 15th in race #1 and 14th in race #2.

Notables who struggled in qualifying were Andretti, as they only had 1 car in the top 10, Meyer-Shank who have both cars outside the top 15 and Foyt who again had both cars outside the top 20.

The race sponsored Hy-Vee car of No.45 of Jack Harvey will line up 7th in both races, Harvey looking to gain in the points and give the Hy-Vee car its first win and podium of 2022.

Reinging series champion No.10 Alex Palou also struggled for speed, will start outside the top 10 for both races lining 14th in race #1 and 12th in race #2, with all the controversy surrounding Palou, will he be able to stay focused and gain ground in the title hunt.

The stars of the IndyCar circuit will take to Iowa today at 3PM CT, live on Peacock and NBC.
