INDYCAR: Arrow McLaren Adds Dixon and Rosenqvist

INDIANAPOLIS — Arrow McLaren’s IndyCar team officially named Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist to its 2027 NTT IndyCar Series lineup.

Dixon and Rosenqvist each signed a multiyear agreement to join Pato O’Ward on the now-three-car team. They will replace two-time 2026 winner Christian Lundgaard and Nolan Siegel.

“It’s never an easy decision but when you have the opportunity to bring drivers of this caliber into your team, you take it seriously,” team principal Tony Kanaan said. “Add that talent to what we have with Pato who’s knocking on the door of his own 500 win and we’re the threat we’ve been building up to be in the championship and the 500.”

2008 Indianapolis 500 winner Scott Dixon is coming to Arrow McLaren after racing for Chip Ganassi Racing in three different decades. He has six champions and 59 wins and is looking to close out his career with more on a new team.

“Joining Arrow McLaren in 2027 is an exciting next step in my career. It was a big decision for myself, for my family and I’m looking forward to contributing to what the team, Zak and Tony are building there. As a New Zealander, being part of Bruce McLaren’s legacy will be special. His spirit and grit are still very much rooted in that team and I’m excited to carry that on,” Dixon said.

Felix Rosenqvist is returning to Arrow McLaren after a stint with the team from 2021 to 2023. In 2023, he earned the first front row start in the Indianapolis 500 for Arrow McLaren since Johnny Rutherford’s 1976 pole.

“I’m excited to return to Arrow McLaren next season and reunite with Pato, of course and also Tony, Zak and the crew and engineers I worked with previously. There are a lot of familiar faces and we’ve got an incredible lineup with Scott joining,” Rosenqvist said. “I think our collective experience will be a huge benefit. I’ve still got work to do to finish this season strong, but I’m looking forward to what’s to come at Arrow McLaren.”

Rosenqvist is the defending winner of the Indianapolis 500. It was one of two wins the 2019 Rookie of the Year has scored in his NTT IndyCar Series career.

Ryan Hunter-Reay, the team’s sporting director, will also join the team in a fourth entry for the 2027 Indianapolis 500.

“I have unfinished business with the 500, and so does this team. Our focus is on Indy; learn from the past and our number one goal is to win the Indy 500,” Hunter-Reay said.

“Add that talent to what we have with Pato who’s knocking on the door of his own 500 win and we’re the threat we’ve been building up to be in the championship and the 500.”

While moving on from Lundgaard and Siegel, McLaren CEO Zak Brown acknowledged their integral contributions.

McLaren is ultimately on a quest to achieve the prestigious “Triple Crown of Motorsport—victories at the Indianapolis 500, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix.”

“Christian’s and Nolan’s contributions have helped shape the progress we’re building on today and I appreciate the energy and drive they have brought to the team since they joined,” Brown said.

McLaren pointed out that they are on a quest to achieve the prestigious “Triple Crown of Motorsport” – winning at the Indianapolis 500, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix.

“Our IndyCar team has shown fantastic momentum and this lineup of Pato, Scott, Felix and Ryan will strengthen every aspect of our program. We’ve got our eyes firmly set on the championship as well as winning the Indianapolis 500 to secure the Triple Crown in the Papaya era. These four drivers bring a wealth of experience as well as great chemistry and will no doubt have a positive impact across our entire team,” Brown said.
