Chase Briscoe holds off Christopher Bell for Chicagoland win

Chase Briscoe held off a late charge from his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Christopher Bell to capture his first win of the NASCAR Cup Series season Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway.

Briscoe won the eero 400 for his first win since Talladega in October of 2025. The win was his sixth overall in the series.

Christopher Bell settled for second, his fourth second-place finish of the year. His last victory came at Bristol in September of 2025.

William Byron, winner of Stages 1 and 2, finished third.

Pole sitter Denny Hamlin finished fourth.

Alex Bowman rounded out the Top-5 for his third such finish of the year.

5 to go: Briscoe continues to lead Bell by under a second as the two navigate lap traffic.

10 laps to go: Briscoe leads over Bell and Byron.

Lap 165: Byron wins Stage 2. 2-10: Briscoe, Hamlin, Gibbs, Blaney, Bell, Elliott, Bowman, Cindric, Nemechek

Lap 160: Byron leading over Briscoe/Hamlin with 5 to go in the stage.

Lap 135: Caution during green-flag pit stops. Reddick leaking fluid and to the garage. Blaney scored the leader.

Lap 124: Three-way battle for the lead, Briscoe prevails over Hamlin and Wallace.

Lap 100: Wallace leads Byron, Buescher, Briscoe and Reddick.

Lap 93: Larson spins into the front stretch infield grass while running third. Wallace the leader. Caution.

Lap 90: Byron back to the lead on the restart.

Lap 80: Byron wins the stage. 2-10: Larson, Wallace, Cindric, Briscoe, Buescher, Herbst, Hamlin, Gibbs, Reddick.

Lap 71: William Byron is in the lead.

Lap 54: Austin Cindric scored as the leader, Herbst second.

Lap 47: Austin Hill backs the rear-end into the outside retaining wall with contact from SVG.

Lap 38: Larson grabs the lead back on the restart.

Lap 33: Caution for a Zane Smith spin. He continues. Contact from Hocevar.

Lap 20: Hamlin takes the lead back from Larson.

Lap 16: Larson leads Buescher and Hamlin.

Lap 7: Back to green, Hamlin/Larson on front row.

Lap 1: Hamlin takes the lead, with a crash on the backstretch. Preece and Zilisch wreck off of Turn 2. Zilisch made contact with the inside retaining wall.

6:27 p.m.: Green flag!

6:21 p.m.: Racecars have rolled off of pit road.

6:18 p.m: Engines fired!

6:08 p.m: Pre-race ceremonies underway.
