NASCAR Cup Series return to Chicagoland is sold out
Chicagoland Speedway has announced that the grandstands are sold out for today’s eero 400. The 1.5 mile oval in Joilet, Ill. holds over 47,000 seats. The race today, will be the first for the track in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2019.
The race is also the sixth sellout out of the last seven races for the NASCAR Cup Series.
Fans attending the race come from all 50 states and 31 different countries. 38 cars will start today’s race in front of the fans with point-leader Denny Hamlin on the pole. Hamlin is looking to score his fifth win of the season and first at Chicagoland since 2015.
Fans will also get to see the second round of the In-Season Tournament. Some notable matchups include Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Ty Gibbs vs. Chase Briscoe, Chris Buescher vs. Christopher Bell, and Hendrick Motorsports teammates William Byron vs. Kyle Larson.
A fireworks show celebrating the 4th of July weekend and America’s 250th anniversary will also happen after the end of the race.
Race fans have shown today that they want NASCAR to continue racing at Chicagoland Speedway for the foreseeable future by showing in droves and voting with their wallets.
