J.J. Yeley to start top-5 in Sunday’s Bristol Dirt race
J.J. Yeley racked enough qualifying points Saturday to start in the top-5 for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway dirt.
Yeley will start third in the 250-lap Food City Dirt Race. This is his best Cup Series start since Michigan in June 2007 when he earned his only pole in the series.
Yeley’s only other Cup Series start better than third was a second-place start at Texas in April 2006.
The 2006 Cup Series Rookie of the Year candidate will make his 357th start in the series Sunday. He has one top-5 finish and eight top-10 finishes.
