Matt Crafton in for Cody Ware at Bristol Dirt Amid ‘Personal Matter’

BRISTOL, TENN. — Matt Crafton will replace Cody Ware at Bristol dirt as Ware deals with an undisclosed personal matter.

Crafton will make just his third NASCAR Cup Series start Sunday, driving Ware’s No. 51 Ford. Rick Ware Racing ruled Ware out Saturday morning “to focus on a personal matter.”

The team rewrapped Ware’s car to put Crafton’s name on it for the heat. Crafton finished sixth in his heat and starts 24th in Sunday’s race.

RWR didn’t say if Ware will be back at Martinsville.
