Jeb Burton looking for strong run at Bristol, end 2026 on high note
It may not have been the season he has hoped for, but Jeb Burton and Jordan Anderson Racing are hoping to finish the last seven races of the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts season strong.
Burton is coming off a Top-10 run at World Wide Technology Raceway (Gateway) last week entering Bristol on Friday night, his third Top-10 finish in the season’s 26 races and second in the last three races.
Burton’s No. 27 ride will feature partner Sprayway, their third race as the primary partner this season, per Racing Reference.
“We’ve had a good partnership with them and (Bristol) is one of the races that they picked,” Burton said to The Racing Experts.
With a handful of races left in the year, Burton said the goal is to continue to record more Top-10 finishes.
“We’ve been doing that the last couple weeks, and feel like we’re capable and learned some things about our cars, so hopefully it can keep translating and keep improving.
Burton said the year has been disappointing, as the second-generation NASCAR competitor sits 21st in points.
The 34-year-old driver said he is not sure yet what the future holds for 2027. Burton has raced for JAR since 2023, scoring a win with the Chevy organization at Talladega in 2023.
Burton said the it is “50-50” if he returns to the team in 2027.
“We talked some about it, but I think there’s a lot of details that still’ve got to be worked out,” Burton said. “But at the same time, being at Jordan’s has been good. We work together, we’ve won together, and I feel like they’ve been good for me, and I’ve been good for them, we’ve been able to grow together.
“It’s been a good partnership, I just want to finish out the year strong and see what the future holds for the both of us.”
When asked if there is a deadline to know if he returns to JAR in 2027, Burton said he would likely know in the next two to three weeks.
But no matter the outcome for 2027, Burton said he appreciates the support from his fans and partners, and his focus remains on Friday night.
“I appreciate all of the partners that helped me do this, and Sprayway coming aboard for (Bristol),” Burton said.
“I’m not able to do without all our partners, and I just appreciate all of them and want to go have a good run this weekend, get some TV time, and go have a solid run.”
The Food City 300 is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m. on the CW.
