Josh Berry picks up third Cup Series Top-10

A common sight in 2023 is seeing the No. 48 placed inside the Top-10 more often than not on the NASCAR Cup Series scoring pylon.
Despite regular driver Alex Bowman sidelined from a dirt racing injury last week, Hendrick Motorsports supersub Josh Berry continued the trend with his 10th-place run in the Wurth 400 at Dover Motor Speedway Monday, his third Top-10 finish in six starts this year.
โHappy to get another Top-10,โ Berry said. โI think it was a really solid day for the No. 48 Ally Chevy team. We needed a little bit more there to be a little bit better, but overall with the amount of experience I have in Cup cars, I feel like to run about where we did was really solid.โ
Berry will continue to fill in for Bowman at Kansas and Darlington, as Bowman is expected to be out another two to three weeks.
Berry earned his first Top-10 finish filling in for Chase Elliott at Phoenix Raceway in March. His season-high โ and career-high finish โ came at Richmond last month where he led 10 laps en route to a runner-up finish to Hendrick teammate Kyle Larson.
Despite missing the Dover race, Bowman is ranked 15th in driverโs points and in a playoff-eligible position on points alone with a 39-point advantage over 17th-place Daniel Suarez.
