Justin Allgaier to start Coca-Cola 600 in Kyle Larson’s car
CONCORD, N.C. — Justin Allgaier will start the Coca-Cola 600 in Kyle Larson’s car Sunday as Larson runs the Indianapolis 500.
Allgaier will get credit for the finishing position of the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet, no matter if Larson jumps in the car or not. It’ll mark Allgaier’s first NASCAR Cup Series start since Talladega in October 2022 when he filled in for Noah Gragson in the No. 62 Beard Motorsports Chevrolet.
Allgaier raced full-time in the Cup Series in 2014 and 2015. Since going to the Xfinity Series full-time in 2016, he has six starts. Four of those six starts were fill-in efforts with a start at Talladega in Fall 2021 and Bristol dirt in Spring 2022 his only regularly-scheduled starts.

A Twin Valley, MN, native, Fjeld became a motorsports fan at just three years old (first race was the 2002 Pennsylvania 500). He worked as a contributor and writer for TRE from 2010-18. Since then, he has stepped up and covered 24 NASCAR race weekends and taken on a larger role with TRE. He became the co-owner and managing editor in 2023 and has guided the site to massive growth in that time.

Currently, he resides in Albuquerque, N.M., where he works for KOB 4, an NBC station. He works as a digital producer and does on-air reports. He loves spending time with friends and family, playing and listening to music, exploring new places, being outdoors, reading books and writing among other activities.
