Kaden Honeycutt extends Chase lead after Phoenix Win
AVONDALE, Ariz. — Kaden Honeycutt extends his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chase lead after his Zero Carbon Bioethanol 150 Phoenix Raceway win.
This is his fourth victory of the season and of his career.

Honeycutt started the race on the outside pole to his championship rival Layne Riggs. For a while in the Zero Carbon Bioethanol 150 he was only a top five truck while his Chase foe finished second in stage one.
They worked on the handling and improved to second behind Ty Majeski, who swept the stages, by the end of the second stage.
Then, the No. 11 Tricon Garage team crushed their final pit stop of the day to give their driver the lead into the final stage.
From there he led wire to wire, 53 laps, in the final stage to his second win in the Chase this season. He extended his point lead over Riggs to nearly 40 points heading into the most unpredictable race of the Chase at Talladega.
The Top Ten
Christian Eckes made quick work from outside the top ten at the beginning of the race to earn stage points in each stage. However, his improvements were not enough to hunt down Honeycutt as the driver of the No. 19 finished runners-up.
Then, Layne Riggs finished third after failing to find a way around Eckes late in the run. He still has a chance at the championship as the only other competitor within a points race distance of the lead.
The aforementioned Ty Majeski nailed the stages and earned a maximum 20 stage points. His short run speed did not convert in the final stage as he settled for a good top five day from fourth.
Finally, Jake Garcia started outside of the top 20, but the former short track winner at Bristol found his groove at the short track of Phoenix for fifth.
William Sawalich came down from the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and placed sixth. Then, Daniel Hemric climbed through the field for a seventh-placed result.
Chase drivers Gio Ruggiero and Grant Enfinger qualified on the same row outside the top ten and finished close together in eighth and ninth.
Finally, Brent Crews joined his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate as the only other driver down from the O’Reilly Series for a top ten from tenth.
Notable Results
Tyler Ankrum was the highest placing driver outside of the top ten in the Chase. He placed 13th as the truck never quite seemed to find top ten speed the whole night.
Chandler Smith slid from a third-placed starting position to a disappointing 15th tonight. Finally, Ben Rhodes struggled tonight to finish last of the ten Chase drivers in 21st.
All 36 drivers who started the event finished. Below are the results of the fourth Truck Series Chase race from Phoenix and the updated Chase standings.
