Kurt Busch ties Fireball Roberts on wins list

HAMPTON, Ga. — Kurt Busch is now tied with Fireball Roberts on the NASCAR Cup Series wins list after his victory Sunday in the Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Busch picked up his first win of 2021 and the 32nd of his premier series career, breaking a tie with 1999 series champion Dale Jarrett on the wins list.
“Different records, different wins, accolades are all a part of it,” Busch said to The Racing Experts. “Dale Jarrett is a legend that I looked up to when I first started racing, and his dad Ned Jarrett. It’s amazing to see the Busch brothers are settling into those walks of life of names and legends.
“I’m just going to keep plugging away.”
Among active drivers, Busch has the fifth-most points-awarding victories after Kyle Busch (59), Kevin Harvick (58), Denny Hamlin (44), and Brad Keselowski (35).

The next five drivers ahead of Busch and Roberts on the wins list are Keselowski (35), Bobby Isaac (37), Matt Kenseth (39), Tim Flock (39), and Mark Martin (40).
The next Cup Series race is scheduled for Sunday, July 18 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
