Kyle Larson goes back to back at Texas in the O’Reilly Series
FORT WORTH, Texas — Kyle Larson fends off teammate Justin Allgaier to win back to back races in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series as he wins the Andy’s Frozen Custard 340 at Texas Motor Speedway.
There now has been six different winners in the previous six races. Kyle won his 19th career series win and his third at Texas.

Larson led a race-high 93 laps, though he rarely looked as dominant as he’s capable of in this series.
He was beginning to pull away from second with 22 laps remaining when Rajah Caruth lost his car exiting turn two. He spun out and brought out the final caution of the day to jeopardize his current spot in the Chase.
That yellow flag reshuffled everything but he aero-blocked well enough to fend off Justin Allgaier.
Now, he’s back on track tonight defending his Interstate Batteries High Limit Series title after winning at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track on Thursday.
Allgaier tied his best finish at the track in second. But he could not gain the track position necessary to beat Larson even though his short run speed at the end was better than him.
Despite the disappointment for him, he now extends his already massive regular season points lead. He won the first stage and lead the second most laps on the day which resulted in 54 points.
Notable Finishes
Sam Mayer surged to third after a great restart with under 20 to go. Then, Brent Crews had an excellent short run setup and finished fourth to win the $100,000 Dash4Cash victory.
The 18-year-old has all the making to become the newest series winner at some point this season after his string of great performances.
Parker Retzlaff finished fifth for his best career finish on an intermediate. He earned his second top five of the season and an amazing sixth top ten.
Sheldon Creed came close to tying Noah Gragson’s record of 3 Dash4Cash wins in a row in sixth.
He, Austin Hill, Brandon Jones, Jesse Love, and Jeremy Clements rounded out the top ten as Clements earned his first top ten at the track in his long-tenured career.
The stage two winner Connor Zilisch faded after his right front chattered during the long run in the final stage. He ran tenth when his right-front tire went flat and had to pit early with 65 to go.
He needed to save fuel and crucially had to pit while others took the wave-a-round while running 14th to finish 21st.
The race went yellow just as soon as it went green. A storyline that has been echoed in the previous three races before today for the series.
The lap one incident started when Taylor Gray slipped in the middle of turn one and two. The track surface had the rest of the field feeling like they were on ice.
Gray went on to finish last of the cars still running in 33rd while other contenders were caught in it as well.
Five total cautions for incident occurred with five total retirements.
Finally, it was first to the worst this week for last week’s winner Corey Day. He sustained massive damage to the rear of his car and finished 37th after his involvement in the first lap crash.
