Spire Motorsports achieve first front row lockout at Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas — Carson Hocevar and Daniel Suarez achieve Spire Motorsports first ever NASCAR Cup Series front row lockout at Texas for the Wurth 400.

This is his second career pole in his 92nd career start and both poles have been here at Texas Motor Speedway.

Momentum and confidence goes hand in hand and there is no better example of that than Carson Hocevar right now.

He narrowly edged out Suarez for the pole but both seemed elated for the position they put their organization in for the first time.

Chris Buescher will start third at his home track. The Prosper, Texas native is the highest qualified Ford in the field.

Denny Hamlin goes three positions better than his practice time as he sets the bar for Toyota in fourth.

His teammate Chase Briscoe rounds out the top five in fifth for what seems to be the norm for his qualifying efforts at intermediate tracks.

Happy 44th birthday Kyle Busch. Richard Childress Racing gave him a rocketship for his day as he makes his first top ten start since Darlington in sixth.

Two more Toyotas fill the fourth row. Christopher Bell looks to find his first victory here from seventh and Tyler Reddick wants to cut his losing streak at one race without a win here as well.

Alex Bowman earns his highest start since Daytona. His ninth is the second time he has qualified in the top ten all season. He is joined by the fourth and final Joe Gibbs Racing car in Ty Gibbs in the fifth row in tenth.

Connor Zilisch starts 12th which is his best since Daytona as he looks to get to grips with the Cup Series before the series heads to Watkins Glen next week.

The defending race winner Joey Logano will start 23rd while his teammate Ryan Blaney completely missed with his run and starts deep in the field in 31st.

Bubba Wallace did not attempt a qualifying lap after making contact with the wall in practice. Austin Dillon also was a non-participant as they changed his engine.

Two open-cars entered the 38 car field. Corey Heim starts 17th while Chad Finchum rolls off 36th. No cars were sent home.
