Kyle Larson ties teammate, others on wins list
With his victory in the Bank of America ROVAL 400 Sunday, Kyle Larson tied Chase Elliott, Dick Rathman and Tim Richmond on the NASCAR Cup Series all-time wins list.
Larson picked up his seventh win of 2021 and the 13th of his career at the Charlotte Road Course.
The four drivers are tied for 57th all-time on the wins list.
“I still feel like I’m so far away from being where I could be as far as road course racer,” Larson said of his third road course victory of 2021. “I still think there’s lots of, tons of room for improvement.
“I think there’s so many more people out there that are better than me under braking, just doing little things better than me and we’re able to get wins like we are.”
Ahead of Larson and company on the wins list include Dick Hutcherson (14 wins), LeeRoy Yarbrough (14), Ernie Irvan (15), Marvin Panch (17) and Curtis Turner (17).
The next NASCAR Cup Series race is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 17 at Texas Motor Speedway.
