NASCAR DQ’s Layne Riggs after Kansas race
Layne Riggs was disqualified from the Heart of America 200 Saturday night following post-race inspection.

The Front Row Motorsports driver will be credited with a 31st-place finish.
Riggs’ No. 34 truck had in issue with the bed cover.
Per NASCAR, the “bed cover material must be strong enough to prevent the cover from deflecting or sagging and must be sealed around the perimeter of all bed panels while the vehicle is in competition.”
Riggs originally came up one spot short of his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win of 2025 Saturday at Kansas Speedway.
Riggs chased down race leader Carson Hocevar and was at his rear bumper on the final lap.
The two drivers entered Turn 1 with Riggs making a move to Hocevar’s inside. As the two raced towards the outside retaining wall in Turn 2, Riggs right-front bumper made contact with Hocevar’s left-rear quarterpanel.

The two got loose, made contact with the outside retaining wall, but continued on to finish 1-2.
“I gave it my all,” Riggs said. “Last lap, I got to him, I got into him a little bit, we both hit the wall, he won the race.”
