Martin Truex Jr. takes 30th career win
Martin Truex Jr. picked up his third NASCAR Cup Series win of 2021 and the 30th of his premier series career Sunday with his victory in the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway.
Truex, the 2017 champion, is ranked 28th overall on the series’ all-time wins list. Since the beginning of the season, Truex has passed Carl Edwards and Rex White on the wins list.
“It takes a lot of people to make these cars go fast, and I’m really lucky to be able to sit behind the wheel of this one today,” Truex said.
Truex has the sixth-most wins among the active competitors in the series behind Kyle Busch (58), Kevin Harvick (58), Denny Hamlin (44), Brad Keselowski (35), and Kurt Busch (32).
The next five drivers ahead of Truex on the wins list are Kurt Busch (32), Dale Jarrett (32) Fireball Roberts (33), Brad Keselowski (35), and Bobby Isaac (37).
The next Cup Series race is scheduled for May 16 at Dover International Speedway.
