Rough year continues for Aric Almirola

A crash in the Goodyear 400 relegated Aric Almirola to a last-place finish (37th) Sunday at Darlington Raceway.

Almirola wrecked out after completing five laps in the race, posting his fourth DNF of the 2021 Cup Series season.

“I got wrecked,” Almirola said. “Pretty simple. We were really fast.”

The Stewart-Haas Racing driver has six finishes of 29th or worse in the first 11 races of the year.

To date, his highest finish of the year was sixth at Richmond Raceway.
