Michael McDowell to team up with Chicago White Sox
CHICAGO โ Michael McDowell will team up with the Chicago White Sox in a primary sponsorship deal for the July 7 NASCAR Cup Series race in Chicago.
McDowell will run a special paint scheme on his No. 34 Ford Mustang. It will feature White Sox branding on the hood and sides of the vehicle. McDowell will also wear a custom White Sox-themed race suit.
โThis is an exciting opportunity to have the Chicago White Sox on the No. 34 car and with the team for the NASCAR Chicago Street Race,โ McDowell said. “Having family from the Chicago area, baseball always has been a part of my life. This partnership is great for fans and is a way to celebrate Chicago sports culture together.โ

The White Sox are hosting a NASCAR Day promotion during their June 30 game against the Colorado Rockies (tickets). The promotion will include:
- A FRM car show featuring McDowellโs White Sox-themed Mustang
- A limited-edition No. 34 McDowell White Sox T-shirt
โThis partnership with Front Row Motorsports presents another incredible opportunity to amplify the White Sox brand in the heart of Chicagoโs racing scene,โ said Mike Downey, the director of marketing and promotions for the White Sox. โWe were impressed by the exciting atmosphere and overwhelmingly positive fan reaction to last year’s Street Race. Teaming up with FRM, Michael McDowell and the team at SKIL, weโre ready to make this yearโs ballpark celebration and race weekend even more unforgettable for fans.โ
The Chicago roots do not stop there. Chicago-founded SKIL will be an associate sponsor for McDowell there.
Last year McDowell finished seventh in the Chicago. The road course ringer will look to bring the White Sox No. 34 Ford to victory lane to secure his spot in the playoffs with a little Chicago flare.
