MHR and Buford will trek to Charlotte Motor Speedway for MHR’s first attempt at the No. 74 car since Daytona when Stanton Barrett failed to qualify.

“We are pleased to have Buford in the No. 74 Chevrolet Camaro during the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series in Charlotte and throughout the season. Buford brings a lot of experience on the oval and road courses and will be a great strength to us,” Harmon said.

“I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the 74 at Charlotte with Mike Harmon Racing! I’m greatly looking forward to kicking off the start of our friendship on the right foot and begin building toward a successful future,” Buford said.

Buford last raced in the Xfinity Series last April at Talladega Superspeedway. He finished 36th in that race after a crash on lap 47.

With Xfinity Series fields not as big on a weekly basis compared to the previous years, MHR has a better shot to show what they can do.

Since 2022, MHR has only made 18 races in over 40 attempts with multiple different drivers. However, MHR has made the last 2 Charlotte Xfinity Series races on speed, so that gives the team high hopes.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series’ BetMGM 300 goes green at Charlotte Motor Speedway just after 1 p.m. ET May 25 (Fox, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Ch. 90).
