NASCAR 2025 Daytona 500 info: Odds, lineups and more

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The NASCAR offseason is over, which means it’s time to kick off the 2025 season on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway.

Entering the weekend, 37 drivers were locked into the 67th annual Daytona 500. Martin Truex Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Justin Allgaier and Corey LaJoie joined them in the field in open entries. Meanwhile, Chandler Smith, J.J. Yeley, Anthony Alfredo and BJ McLeod missed the race.

Helio Castroneves took the Open Exemption Provisional, which opened up an extra spot in the Daytona 500 for an open entry. New for 2025, the OEP is akin to the “promoter’s provisional” dirt tracks use. The OEP allows a world-class driver to get locked into a NASCAR Cup Series race. If they fail to qualify for the 40-driver field, that driver can take the OEP and get into the field as the 41st driver.

Because of the OEP, Castroneves locked himself into the Daytona 500.

William Byron is the defending winner and is one of only eight past Daytona 500 winners entered for this year’s race:
