NASCAR Championship Odds: Kansas 2026

The NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ drivers look to find their own yellow brick road when the Chase turns to Kansas Speedway this coming weekend.

Previously in the Chase, The Cup Series saw a new leader and another different postseason winner.

Kyle Larson took the slimmest lead of them all over Denny Hamlin by a single point. Then, Joey Logano reminded everyone that even-years are his by capturing his first win of the Chase and third win of the year at Bristol.

In the Truck Series, non-Chase driver Jake Garcia captured his first career series victory in just under 100 career starts. Layne Riggs holds a narrowed championship lead after his great night fell flat in what could have been his third consecutive series win at Bristol.

Cup Series Chase Standings

Bristol brought on major movements in the Cup Series Chase standings.

As previously mentioned, the most glaring change is the leader. Kyle Larson has taken a single-point lead over the former Chase leader Denny Hamlin.

They will continue their title bout this weekend as the two enter the first traditional intermediate of the Chase in Kansas Speedway. Both have history as former foes and victors and will put on a show in the Hollywood Casino 400.

Last week’s winner Joey Logano has improved to third in the standings and sits within striking distance of the Chase lead itself.

Before the postseason, the prevailing belief in the garage was that any driver entering the Chase outside the top five had little to no chance of winning the Cup.

Now, three of the top five, including the current points leader, entered the Chase outside the top five and have completely shattered that belief.

Other movement within the Chase standings showcases drivers either in the middle of a slump or a surge.

Ryan Blaney, Chase Briscoe and Chase Elliott continue to slide down the Chase standings. Blaney and Briscoe have also endured back-to-back DNFs, with both drivers involved in accidents in the previous two events.

Meanwhile, William Byron and Carson Hocevar have quietly, well maybe not so much Carson, climbed the standings after each secured consecutive top-ten finishes over the same stretch.

Finally, Vegas has written off three drivers from championship contention already. RFK Racing’s Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece as well as Spire Motorsports’ brand new dad Daniel Suarez.

Truck Series Chase Standings

The top three drivers in both Truck Series Chase standings remain unchanged, while the rest of the field has undergone significant movement.

Layne Riggs and Front Row Motorsports still hold the lead, but their 25-point advantage has nearly evaporated after just one race.

They’ll now have to really fend off the defending owners’ champions over the final six races. Kaden Honeycutt and his No. 11 Tricon Garage team have plenty of time to erase the remaining three-point deficit and take control of the standings.

Chandler Smith also held his position in third, gaining just five points on his leading teammate. FRM will look to consolidate its strength as the organization attempts to hold off Honeycutt and Tricon over the remainder of the Chase.

Elsewhere in both Chase standings, every team and driver remains mathematically capable of taking the lead in a single race. The entire field sits within the 75-point threshold needed to make a complete swing in the standings.

Even so, the Vegas odds haven’t changed drastically. The same three drivers who entered the Chase ranked in the top three remain there following the latest race.

The biggest changes come further down the order, with Ty Majeski now carrying the fourth-best odds while Tyler Ankrum continues to slide, dropping to tenth.
