NASCAR: Christopher Bell, Chase Elliott crash at Michigan
Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott climbed from their torn-up racecars after a lap 148 crash Sunday in the Firekeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Bell and Elliott were racing for second place when Elliott appeared to get loose under Bell, eventually coming up the track into Bell.
Bell’s No. 20 made contact with the outside wall while Elliott ultimately spun to the inside of the racetrack, making contact with the inside retaining wall out of Turn 4.
Elliott took responsibility for the crash and apologized to Bell after the wreck.

“I got in there, got free, and I thought I was gonna spin and was kind of committing to spinning out, and as soon as I started to commit to spinning, it just hooked up and hooked right,” Elliott said to Prime.
Bell was evaluated and released from the infield care center, but did not speak to the media.
Bell and Elliott were credited with 31st and 32nd-place finishes respectively.
