NASCAR confiscates parts from SHR, ejects Stenhouse team engineer
HAMPTON, Ga. — NASCAR confiscated parts from two Stewart-Haas Racing cars and ejected Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s team engineer Friday.
The events unfolded during pre-race tech inspection at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Officials confiscated the roof rail deflectors on Noah Gragson and Ryan Preece’s cars. They plan to evaluate the parts further and levy penalties, if any, next week.
Stenhouse will not have team engineer Max Kennon with him the rest of the weekend. The No. 47 JTG-Daugherty Racing team will also lose pit selection for Sunday’s race.
This comes as Stenhouse failed inspection twice before finally passing.
The NASCAR Cup Series’ Ambetter Health 400 goes green Sunday at 3 p.m. ET. Broadcast is on FOX, MRN and SIRIUSXM NASCAR Radio. Qualifying is Saturday at 11:30 a.m. ET (TV: FS1).
